Aroma: With a candy shop sweetness developing to a spiced cereal character with home baking.
Palate: Creamy with vanilla custard, spiced oak, ripe banana and honeycomb.
Conclusions: The long finish shows layer on layer of vanilla fudge with citrus peel and icing sugar.
Editor Choice: From Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, which is reserved for very rare and well-aged whiskies, comes 30 year old single grain Scotch whisky distilled by Strathclyde! This one was distilled in June 1988 and aged in a refill barrel until November 2018, when it was bottled with an outturn of 174 bottles ( Cask No.12950).
