
The wine is grown in Umbria (the land locked region at the centre of Italy known as Italy’s lungs). It is largely a natural reserve where wine and olives are grown in a bio friendly way in the manner that they have been for centuries. The wine is then taken a few kilometres away to the Cantina Regina which makes it in aluminium vats for about 6 months before it is bottled in April. The soil is clayish but very stony so drainage is good. The grapes were planted in 2018 and first harvested in 2022 producing about 3000 bottles of wine half red and half white on a 4 acre plot. The Vermentino cuts the aroma of the Sauvignon. The result is a light, summery fresh wine, with hints of grapefruit. It is very drinkable as a pre-lunch or dinner refreshment or with fish or salads.
