From 2.9 hectares, this cuvée represents nearly one-third of the holdings. It’s from Magny and Sous la Velle in Meursault, and Champs Perrier, just inside Puligny. Just over half is in 300-litre barrels, for freshness. This may not be bottled until January 2021, such is its density. It’s precise, creamy, citrus and saline, with a lift of freshness.
Professional Comments and Ratings:
- Jasper Morris MW (86-88/100)
Crisp clear colour, powerful qualitative nose, then showing a little of midsummer warmth behind. Otherwise, classical aromatics and a very cheerful wine, even with some salinity.
- Vinous (85-87/100)
The 2019 Bourgogne Blanc comes 60% from Meursault and 40% from Puligny. Matured for 12 months in barrel, 60% in demi-muids and the rest in pièces, and racked at the end of July, it has a pleasant grass clipping and apricot nose. The palate is fresh on the entry with a touch of bitter lemon and a bright if short finish.
