Description: The Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard was first planted in 1866 and is one of the original vineyards of the Hunter Valley. Overlooking the Pokolbin sub-region, its elevated position and unique mix of soil types produces wines of complexity and quality.
A cooler and drier than average January after excellent December rainfall combined to deliver ideal ripening conditions, with grapes showing flavours with great freshness and intensity. This wine was vinified in a small open fermenters and matured in French oak puncheons to retain freshness of fruit, whilst adding structure and complexity to the wine.
Tasting Notes: The wine is medium bodied with medium acid and low tennis. It has ripe cherry and raspberry aromas that continue through to the palate to combine with slight spice notes for a long, complex finish.
