The Yuzu is a citrus fruit and plant originating in Southern Japan. It is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda. This fruit resembles a very small frapefruit with uneven skin texture and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of ripeness. Yuzu fruits, which are very aromatic, typically ranging from 5.5 and 7.5 cm in diameter. However, some can be as large as a grapefruit.
Editor Choice: Yuzu bitters are purchased directly from the farmers in Tokushima prefecture, where it is known as the yuzu production district. Yuzu bitters are made with fresh and fragrant Citrus junos.
